CALL TO WORSHIP                                                      Leslie Sheley

One: The Spirit of God, the One of a Thousand Faces sees through all our pretenses to that silent, secret space within,

All: where our true spirit sojourns. May God prune away the duplicities that mask our best intentions and all those quick defenses that disguise who we really are.

One: May that Spirit open possibilities to all of us so that we would touch and know the truth of our own beings,

ALL: and understand the beauty of all creation.

THE LORD’S PRAYER

(based on the Maori Version, South Pacific Indigenous)

Earth-maker, life-giver, pain-bearer, Source of all that is and all that shall be, Father and Mother of us all, Loving God in whom is heaven: May the hallowing of your name echo through the universe! May your heavenly will be done by all creatures great and small! And may your commonwealth of peace and freedom sustain our hope and come on earth! With the bread we need this day, feed us. For the hurt we inflict on one another, forgive us. By your grace and mercy, strengthen us through times of temptation, and spare us from trials too great to endure. Free us from bigotry and evil, for service and truth. For you reign in the glory of the power that is Love. Amen.

*In an effort to remain true to our tradition as well as our commitment to inclusive language, the word “kin-dom” reflects the kind of society Jesus envisions—a shared community of equals who serve each other, united in a kin-group, not by blood but by a covenant with God and one another.

 Welcome Guests and Visitors!

We invite you to wear a nametag if desired and complete a visitor card (both found in the narthex) and drop it in the offering plate so we can send you weekly emails and call if desired. We invite everyone to join us for coffee and goodies and visit before worship in the foyer.

References to God in traditional prayers, readings, and hymns in our worship may sometimes be gender specific. As we pray and sing together, you are invited to substitute terms that reflect your understanding of the full inclusiveness of the spirit of God.

We acknowledge that the land on which this church stands is the homeland and unceded territory of the Tséstho’e (Cheyenne). We acknowledge this indigenous community who stewarded this land throughout the generations and pay respect to their elders past and present.
